Silk was born in Fredericton, New Brunswick, Canada. The daughter of Peter who was an academic as well as Ilkay Silk who was a renowned actor as well as a producer, director, writer, teacher, and Director of Drama in St. Thomas University. The earliest memories of Anna were playing rehearsals, and then watching her mother perform. Silk was a prominent character in numerous commercials while she was a young child. The Bachelor in Arts was conferred to her by St. Thomas University, 1997. Theatre St. Thomas staged two plays in the early years: Seven Menus & The Kitchen. Silk moved from Toronto in November 1999 to Los Angeles during the next decade. Silk met her spouse, Seth Cooperman, at an actor's training held in Los Angeles, in 2007. They got married in 2009 and were married in the civil ceremony on December of that year. When she converted to Judaism, they renewed their wedding vows at an Jewish ceremony on April 10th 2011.
